Christmas Movie Countdown Day 11

It’s day 11 of our very own special Christmas Movie Advent Calendar, the Screen One Christmas Movie Countdown. Join with us as we continue to countdown to Christmas with a new movie to watch each day as the days get ever closer to the big day. All films are availble via various streaming and terrestrial TV services.

Day 11 – Krampus (Netflix)

When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Emjay Anthony) gets disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Meanwhile, this lack of festive spirit unleashes the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers. All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family’s home and forcing them to fight for one another if they hope to survive.

Its time for some Friday night thrills on the Screen One Christmas Movie Countdown as we enter the darkly humourous horror Krampus. In Michael Dougherty’s 2015 film, it follows a template more akin to Gremlins than White Christmas as a small family gather for Christmas, bicker to the point where the young protaganist Max unkonowingly inceites the entrance of the darker Saint Nick himslef, Krampus. With a cast that you wouldn’t usually associate with this type of film, worls magnificently as they navigate the carnage and no-one is safe at all from the Christmas demons wrath. If your looking for something a bit different as you embrace the season, this is well worth a watch.

If you’re behind on the countdown you can catch up via the links below the poster. Enjoy.
